What a crazy softball season. Due to rain, I believe that 75% of the games had to be rescheduled. But we made our way through it and ended with the tournament with great weather and not a drop of rain.

In Division I Dayton Mennonite Church (1st) had an undefeated regular season, but was beaten by New Beginnings Church (2nd) in the first game of the championship match. DMC then came back to beat NBC in the second game by 1 run to take the championship.

Division II had first year Ekklesia of Christ Church (5th) playing long time Gospel Hill Mennonite Church (3rd) in the championship game. Both teams found hard in a very competitive game and unfortunately resulted in several injuries. Hoping for recovery for both players.

In the Division I championship game, Zion Mennonite Church won over New Beginnings Church. The semi-finals were very exciting, Zion MC beat Weavers Mennonite Church in triple overtime. New Beginnings beat Dayton Mennonite Church by one point.

In Division II, New Beginnings Church II beat Church of Jesus Christ to win the championship. In the semi-finals, New Beginnings beat Community Mennonite by 3 points and Church of Jesus Christ won over Divine Unity Community Church II by 6 points.

The 2024 softball season comes to an end. It was a great season! Hope everyone who played and came to watch had a good experience. Here’s to next year.

Division 1 – Championship game was between DMC I (#1 Seed) vs VVMC (#3 Seed). DMC I won.

Division 2 – Championship game was between NBC (#1 Seed) vs GHMC (#6 Seed). NBC won.

Division I and II Softball Tournament will start the week of July 29 and conclude on August 4th. More details as soon as the regular season is over.

Basketball season will start on March 4th. There will be 2 divisions, DI with 6 teams and DII will have 7 teams. Games will be played full court. DI will play on Tuesday and Friday, DII will play on Monday and Thursday. I will have the schedule up ASAP.

Congratulations to Dayton Mennonite Church I for winning the Division I championship against Divine Unity Community Church.

Congratulations to Valley View Mennonite Church for their win against Harrisonburg Baptist Church in Division II.

Division I tournament will resume on Monday 7/31 at 6:00, championship game at 7:00. Games at Eastern Mennonite School Field. If second game is needed to determine winner, the game will be played Monday at WR after completion of Division II.

Division II tournament will resume on Monday 7/31 at 6:00, championship game at 7:00 and if second game is needed to determine winner, the game will be played at 8:00. Games at West Rockingham Ruritan Park.

Due to insecticide treatment of the grass at EMS on Saturday, the Sunday games have been cancelled. The games will be rescheduled for a later date.
